THIS IS LIGHTING

In its simplest form, light can be defined as a sensory stimulant that makes things visible. For light to be perceived, a source and receptor are required. By day we see in color, while at night we can only see in shades of gray. Light brings a vibrancy and richness to our lives every day – without light, color does not exist.

In a technical sense, light is that part of the electromagnetic spectrum that is perceived by our eyes, with a wavelength range between 380 and 780 nm. Our eye is the most important sensory organ, perceiving 80% of all information. It serves as an incredibly powerful receptor.

The most obvious source of light is one that supports our very existence – the sun. Daylight plays a critical role in our daily lives, and it inspires us to emulate its impact. No other form of light is as uniform, and no other light can cause such pleasant feelings. The sun supports life on earth, it regulates the human biological rhythm, and its light promotes a sense of comfort and wellbeing.

A source and receptor allow us to perceive light, but the power of light can be viewed as a raw material which can be harnessed and transformed. We believe that with the application of knowledge, this simple sensory phenomenon can become something extraordinary.
